OBE for Old Beaudesertian

We are delighted to hear that John May, attended 1971 – 1977, has been award an OBE for services to young people in the Queen’s New Year Honours List.  John, trained as a teacher and has worked with children and young people in a variety of situations, ranging from schools in suburban England to refugee camps in Uganda. He became a Headmaster at 28, going on to develop a reputation for regenerating under-performing schools. Since then he has been the national Education Director of Business in the Community, founding Chief Executive of Career Ready and Chief Executive of Young Enterprise.  Currently, John is the Secretary General of The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award.
