Temporary Maintenance Assistant

We are currently seeking some additional support in our busy Maintenance team helping to deliver safe, well maintained facilities at our beautiful school on Minchinhampton Common.

The role is offered on a temporary basis, initially for 6 months with the potential to be extended. It is full-time, 40 hours per week, working Monday to Friday 8.00am to 4.30pm with a 30 minute daily lunch break. Some flexibility will be needed during emergencies, for which time-off in lieu will be given. The postholder will also participate with colleagues on a 1 in 4 rota on Saturday mornings during term-time with the following Friday afternoon being taken off in lieu.

The successful candidate will be a self-starter who is able to work unsupervised, is highly motivated and flexible, ideally with electrical qualifications/ experience. The role involves undertaking a wide range of planned and reactive premises maintenance work such as minor plumbing, unblocking drains, decorating, emergency repairs/ making safe, as well as undertaking statutory checks e.g. fire extinguishers, smoke detectors and legionella flushing.  Full training will be provided where required. As part of the wider Estates team, you will also be required to undertake general duties such as portering, distributing deliveries and moving furniture.
