Headmaster’s Message

Beaudesert Park is, quite simply, a very special school.  Building on the foundations of a rich and successful 110 year history, 100 years at the present site in Minchinhampton, Beaudesert draws on its past while ambitiously looking forward to an exciting future ahead.

At its heart, Beaudesert is a school that exudes warmth and welcome.  It is, and always has been, a caring school.  Staff at Beaudesert know what a privilege it is to be entrusted with guiding children through the joy of the prep school years, years during which they grow, change and develop more than at any other time.  Life at Beaudesert is incredibly rich and varied, offering children the chance to find their moments of magic, making memories and friendships for life, and experiencing an enormous breadth of opportunities which allow every child to find their passions and strengths.  No day at Beaudesert is ever quite like another, thus creating a true sense of joy in learning.

In all that children learn and experience while at Beaudesert we want them to be purposeful and ambitious, encouraging them to take risks, stretch themselves and move out of their comfort zone.  There should be no limit to their expectations and hopes.  Our children are growing up in a world where their strength of character is likely to be more important than ever before, so finding opportunities for children at Beaudesert to develop courage, confidence, resilience, independence and individuality is as important as anything else we do.  This comes through all areas of school life, whether it be in the classroom, on the sports field, through performance or creative arts, in the woods or out at play.  Indeed, taking the time to draw breath while at school, running free, climbing trees and, to put it simply, being children helps Beaudesertians to develop into the happy, outgoing and eager learners that they are.

Children move on from Beaudesert with a spring in their step, taking an abundance of happy memories and an array of individual successes with them, fully prepared for all that lies ahead at their Senior school and beyond.

Harriet and I feel incredibly blessed to have joined the exceptional team at Beaudesert.  We hope our website gives you a flavour of what makes Beaudesert so special, and hope you are able to come and meet us in person so we can share all that makes Beaudesert such a unique and happy school.
