Moving to the Cotswolds

Thinking of making the great escape to the country?

Lots of families choose to move away from city life as children get older to enjoy the space and fresh air that the Cotswolds provides.

Life in the Cotswolds

Here at Beaudesert we have many families who have made the move to village life. With fast rail links and easy commuter routes to London, the Cotswolds offers the perfect work-life balance.

The idyllic country escape

The Cotswolds is a hidden gem complete with quaint villages, rolling hills and a strong community spirit.

A designated area of outstanding natural beauty

The Cotswolds is home to 3,000 miles of footpaths and bridleways as well as the famous ‘Cotswolds Way’, a 102 mile walk from Chipping Campden to Bath through the glorious countryside. Beaudesert Park School sits adjacent to Minchinhampton Common, a National Trust protected Site of Special Scientific Interest. During the summer months the Common is home to cows and ponies which roam in meadows carpeted with buttercups and daisies.

City life within striking distance

Chic market towns like Cirencester and Tetbury are nestled within the valleys near buzzing local towns like Stroud and Nailsworth. Cheltenham, Bristol and Bath are just a short drive away.

Where to live

Children attend Beaudesert from across Gloucestershire and Wiltshire.

The School offers private bus transportation from North Cerney, South Cerney, Ampney Crucis, Kemble, Painswick, Cirencester, Tetbury, Malmesbury, Grittleton, Sherston, Shipton Moyne, Great Somerford and villages in between. These routes change yearly depending on demand.

We also have links with a number of local estate agents in the area which we would be happy to recommend.

Boarding

Beaudesert offers weekly and flexi-boarding for children from Year 4, often for parents who travel during the working week.

Over the course of a year, approximately 160 boys and girls spend time as a boarder, giving them vital boarding experience prior to moving on to their senior school.

Life at Beaudesert

Children at Beaudesert enjoy over 30 acres of greenery during break and lunch times, as well as during Forest School and Games sessions. Muddy knees are very much encouraged at Beaudesert, particularly after children gain their tree climbing license.

The School’s rich and varied curriculum stretches the children academically in every way.

In 2023, over 40% of our Year 8 children gained scholarships to leading senior schools across the UK.

We are also independent of any senior school, which means children from Beaudesert move on to over 20 different senior schools each year.
