Beaudesert Park are really excited to be joining the Eco-Schools programme this year.
The Eco-Schools programme is a pupil-led initiative spanning over 70 countries worldwide that puts young people in control of environmental action in their school and local community.
Sustainability and protecting the environment that we live in is at the heart of everything we do at Beaudesert. From Ecology classes and Forest School, to art projects and STEAM challenges, the School hopes that in joining the programme, children will be empowered to lead change at Beaudesert Park as well as in the wider community.
The Eco-Schools seven step programme supports children in engaging with environmental topics including waste, biodiversity, energy and global citizenship. Once completed, the School will gain its ‘Eco-Schools Green Flag Award’.
The programme will be starting this term with nominations for children to join an Eco-Council. The committee will be conducting an Environmental Review of all aspects of school life, to help identify areas for improvement.
