Last year’s Autumn Fair raised £8,400 for the following two charities:
Scrubditch Care Farm:
Scrubditch Farm is located between Woodmancote and North Cerney; it is a family run business with mainly sheep and cattle.
The care farm began in October 2010 and a variety of people have used the facilities and felt the benefits. They have regular weekly students, group visits and run the Holiday Activity Schemes for children of all abilities.
The care farm provides farming-based activities for adults and young people with learning difficulties, challenging behaviour, or mental health problems. Students partake in a variety of activities including working with animals, growing vegetables, fruit and flowers, cooking and learning basic woodworking skills.
Children’s Hospice South West:
This charity provides hospice care for children with life-limiting conditions and their whole family, across the South West.
The care they offer is wide ranging; respite and short breaks, emergency care, palliative and end of life care.
Children’s Hospice South West are absolutely committed to making the most of short and precious lives.
The care offered at each of their hospices is not simply about medical and nursing care for sick children, but about enriching the lives of children and their families.
